The Ancient Period has always been of interest to me, being raised on Asterix books and the works of Peter Connolly. The DBA rules were responsible for getting me collecting and gaming ancients in the 1990s with friends at the now-defunct Newark Irregulars club; then Warhammer Ancient Battles came along in 1998 and launched a thousand 28mm armies!
