Maleme Airfield, May 20th 1941

This was our ‘big game’ for the 2018 season that we played at the club and took to shows including Partizan and Crisis. The game was a loose recreation of the attack on Maleme airfield and the famous Tavronitis Bridge which we played out either as individual scenarios or one large battle. The table was up to 20′ long and 5′ wide, although using a fleece cloth as the base meant that it was all easily transportable.

Individual scenarios included the assault on the RAF camp, collecting supply containers and a what-if attack by some local Cretans.

The game in progress at Partizan on the 77th anniversary of the battle, May 20th 2018.
