The Battle of Crete during WW2 is a fascinating subject to game: elite German troops taking part in the first ever all-airborne invasion, but at great disadvantage and suffering terrible losses. During this project, I was able to visit Crete, along with a couple of other members of the gaming team, and see first-hand some of the locations of this historic battle. Over the next year or so, we played numerous battles and skirmishes from the campaign, mostly using the Chain of Command rules but also Bolt Action and I Ain’t Been Shot Mum.
